A few days ago that Sony announced that they would publish update schedule in the middle of this month of December to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on Xperia models in 2012. Now we have the aforementioned timetable, and we found some surprises, but in general, it was expected. From February 2013 will start to receive updates to the models, although some of them will have to wait longer. For its part, the most basic terminals not updated.

Apparently, it is the lack of stability that makes it impossible for Sony to upgrade the most basic models to the later version, Jelly Bean. Perhaps the thing would change if they not apply a layer so heavy on the system. Be that as it may, it seems that the Xperia U, the single Xperia, Xperia Miro and Xperia type, will not update, so it will stay at 4.0 Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

On the other hand, the first update will be the T Xperia, Xperia TX and Xperia V, who will receive their new firmware in February 2013. For later, in late March, they will have the new software the Xperia P, Go and J. The last to do so would be the Xperia S, SL Xperia, Xperia Ion, and the Xperia Acro S, which would make it sometime in April.

The surprise comes precisely in the latter case, because the expectation was that the Xperia S could update sometime before end of year, during the month of December. It seems that it will not be the case and that we should expect much more, about three months to be exact. This, added to that or a single device launched in 2011 will be updated, not leaves in very good stead to the Japanese company, which will have to do better with future smartphones updates.
